Not only are we on the verge of a much anticipated weekend, we’re also on the verge of the holiday season. With that being said, it’s no surprise that Milwaukee is chock-full of events and pre-holiday celebrations to keep us entertained and to get us in the spirit all weekend long.
Grab some hot chocolate and head Downtown for the 83rd annual Milwaukee Holiday Parade and also tote along a non-perishable food item for the Hunger Task Force’s Food for Families. Maybe I’ll see you there!
Can't make it Downtown? Catch lightings and parades in Waukesha and Delafield this weekend, too.
Of course, the Holiday International Folk Fair is back this year to get you in the Christmas mood. Peruse a world of culture and costumes through dozens of honored family recipes, a wealth of authentic artifacts, and a variety of traditional music and dance.
Looking for more? The Florentine Opera opens a new show and the Milwaukee Art Museum is open After Dark. The Bucks take on the Charlotte Bobcats while Marquette and UWM take the court later this weekend.
Also, the 2009 gun deer hunting season opens Saturday and runs through November 29. Get up north or just stick around for one of the many Deer Hunter’s Widow events around town.
Enjoy your weekend and the start of the holidays!
After last night, I'm not sure if we'll be ready to head back downtown for the parade. I look forward to reading about it. Have a great weekend!
